What people ask before switching

What makes TungMail private? +

Your mail is encrypted on your device with keys derived from your password. We store only ciphertext, so even under legal pressure there is nothing readable for us to hand over. Privacy is enforced by the architecture, not by a promise.

Do I really not need a phone number? +

Correct. There's no SMS step and no phone number stored on your account. Registration needs only a username and a password, plus the seed phrase we generate for recovery.

What is KYC, and why doesn't TungMail require it? +

KYC ("know your customer") means verifying your legal identity with documents. TungMail never asks for ID because your inbox isn't meant to be tied to who you are — anonymity is the point.

What happens if I lose my password? +

Your recovery seed phrase is the only way back in. Because encryption is zero-access, we can't reset your account for you — keep the phrase somewhere safe and private.

Can I email people on Gmail or Outlook? +

Yes. Mail to other providers is delivered normally. Messages between TungMail accounts get full end-to-end encryption automatically.

Is TungMail really free? +
